We needed counters for our kitchen remodel which included counters along the walls, an island and a separate counter off to the side of the kitchen. We had three visits from the Granite Marble Designs staff. First was the quote when we were sold on this company, then a visit from a guy who built the templates which gave us a good feeling that they would fit perfectly, and the last visit by the installers who were conscientious about getting it right...every little detail. A great company with a good work ethic!
We have purchased granite two times in the past and have learned that in addition to finding a stone you really like, the fabricator can make a big difference. Little things like stone dust falling into all the drawers and bigger things like polishing are likely the reasons you may pay a little more or less for what you get.
We looked around a bit, stopped in a few places, spoke with folks over the phone, searched on the internet, read blogs, etc. It's not a small investment and not something you can easily redo. We ended up hiring Granite & Marble Designs in part because Shawn presented himself and the company so well. He arrived on time for our quote, was low-key and competently answered all our questions. He had handouts for us on edges and was clear on the costs and what we could expect....and that is exactly what happened. He pointed us to different granite locations and when the piece we selected was sold that same day he sent us to another location where I found a piece I liked even more.
The template maker was on time, likable and clearly competent since when the stone came to be installed it fit perfectly. I am sure my Android phone picture will not do it justice!
The installers came and stayed...and stayed...to get it right. We had a couple issues with the height of one of the base cabinets and they shimmed it and then shaved down one corner so the cabinet door next to it would not knock on it. I wouldn't have known the difference with some of what they did but they were true professionals.
We chose a Black Cambrian on the counters along the edge and a Neptuna Bordeaux for our island. It looks great, it's finished fabulously, and feels good to finally have a working kitchen. We are planning on a major bathroom remodel and planning on having Granite Marble Designs back in the house to do the vanity counters. My husband and I recommend you give them a call for a quote...it's a good place to start!
I just want to express my gratitude to Jason for helping me get through my granite install. I have been struggling with a very difficult remodel project and quite frankly, I was literally having a nervous breakdown during some of the process. My new granite counter top is simply beautiful and everyone who was involved in the project should be praised. I will highly recommend your company. Thank you again. I will definitely call upon your company for my bathroom remodels....but I need time to recover first!
Please let Jason know he is simply WONDERFUL. A true gentleman and professional.

Dear Jack and Michael,
We wanted to write and thank you for the exemplary work installing our granite. Shawn Smith was an outstanding representative of Granite and Marble Design, from the initial contact through the template phase. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed working with Shawn and Bill to select the exact grain placement of the templates and learning about the process, from cutting the granite through the final stages of polishing.
We appreciated the fact that both of you were so involved in the project, including the template measurements and arriving after the installation both days to be sure that the installation was finished appropriately.
Although there were a few issues with the initial installation, after Jack visited and made note of the problems (including several things he and our contractor noticed that we did not), he immediately scheduled a second crew to arrive the following morning so that our contractor would not be delayed. Jorge and Pancho were artisans and craftsmen. The seams are nearly undetectable and the on-site cuts they made were perfect. We truly appreciate their exacting execution of a beautiful finished product.
This is a kitchen that we’ll enjoy on a daily basis so the quality and service become part of our everyday life. Your pride of workmanship recognized the ongoing pleasure your clients get out of a job well done. You made this a very pleasant experience and we’ll enjoy it all the more for that.
The installation was great and the countertops look awesome! That color is so rich and really makes it feel and look like a new home! We are very excited and very impressed with your service from start to finish. We’ve already passed out two of your cards to neighbors/friends who came over to see it and they were very impressed as well.
I want to take a minute to thank you so much for making the fabrication on my granite countertop a priority. It was the extra step I needed in this endless kitchen remodel. Please know that your extra effort did not go unnoticed. Thank you!
Thank you for cutting my sink “just the way I wanted it”. It is beautiful. Jorge did a fantastic job of cutting and polishing as well as the initial installation. Thank you for your concern and the second trip for the cut-out.
It’s been a month now that we’ve had our new “Paradiso Classico” granite counter-tops. We absolutely love them. They have made our kitchen in to a beautiful part of our home. Friends and family that have visited have given their praises of what a great choice we made.
Most of all, I (Debbie) feel that you were so very instrumental in helping us make this important choice. And, you were so professional each and every time I met with you or called you on the phone when I had doubts or questions. I’ll never forget the day you came to Granite Imports and met my daughter and me. You had your tape measure out, measuring the slab to make sure I was assured to get the right vein of granite and motion where I wanted it to fit on my counter-tops. I was impressed, you measured perfectly!
Also, thank you to the wonderful job the fabricators did in cutting the slab and the efficient installation they performed. It was not an easy job since one slab was so large with no seam. They should not be overlooked as the finished job looks professional, smooth, and sleek. We would be happy to give recommendations to prospective customers.
I want to wish you, Jen, and to the future of Granite & Marble Designs that you continue doing well in the Metro area. Thank you so much for all your help.
